Black Mesa Research Facility, an ultra-secret laboratory under government contract, conducting top-secret and extremely volatile experiments with stuff we’re not supposed to know about. You play as Gordon Freeman, a Black Mesa employee. And this morning, as usual, you pit your way to the research facility for a run-of-the-mill experiment.
But this morning’s experiment is not quite as ordinary as you thought. Odd things begin to happen as you make your way to one of the Black Mesa test chambers. Even weirder things happen when you start to move the test sample towards the antimass-spectrometer.
And you ain’t seen nothing yet. Yes indeed, the experiment went wrong. Aliens from the planet Xen have suddenly invaded the facility, injuring and/or killing many of the employees. The Marines have come to the facility to kill off the aliens…and the surviving witnesses of the accident. You know what that means: you’ll have to fight your way through aliens and Marines to get to the top of the Black Mesa complex. When you face your ultimate challenge, you’ll see why being a government employee really does suck

Half Life 2
Rise and shine, Mr Freeman rise and shine. Not that I wish to imply that you have been sleeping on the job no one is more deserving of a rest. And all the effort in the world would have gone to waste but until well let’s just say your hour has come again. So wake up Mr Freeman, wake up and smell the ashes.
The next thing Gordon knows, he’s on a train coming to a stop in “City 17″. Valve has confirmed that the game will take place in this run-down Eastern-European city and the surrounding area. Unfortunately for our sleeping hero, the human race has since become enslaved by an alien force known as the “Combine”. They exercise an oppressive regime, keeping the citizens of City 17 closely guarded with troops, gunships and towering tripod machines.

Half Life 2: Episode One
Having left the story of Half-Life 2 on the mother of all cliffhangers, this instalment picks up an hour later. The introduction of High Dynamic Range lighting as well as even more clever ways of playing with the fantastic physics engine means the player feels much more involved as they watch City 17 crumble around them.
Gameplay wise, its bigger, badder and the player has some extra help in the form of the gorgeous Alyx Vance. The player is made to feel genuine love and compassion for her as the relationship between the two characters develops beyond simple teamwork.
As Gordon and Alyx escape through the city meeting ever more zombies, including the new Zombine super-zombie, the player feels both helpless and emboldened at different turns.
This game will suck your life away for a good eight hours and is second to none in the richness of story, character acting and emotion.

Half Life 2: Episode Two
As Dr. Gordon Freeman, you were last seen exiting City 17 with Alyx Vance as the Citadel erupted amidst a storm of unknown proportions. In Episode Two, you must battle and race against Combine forces as you traverse the White Forest to deliver a crucial information packet stolen from the Citadel to an enclave of fellow resistance scientists.
Episode Two extends the award-winning Half-Life gameplay with unique weapons, vehicles, and newly-spawned creatures.
